The Government seems intent on destroying military members, this time by demanding that they repay reenlistment bonuses that were offered to them by the National Guard when soldiers were needed to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan. Some of the soldiers were injured during their service, and will have extreme difficulty finding a way to pay back the money given to them.
They signed contracts in good faith
The enlistment bonuses were supposed to be limited to “high demand” assignments like intelligence, non-commissioned officers, or civilians needed to deploy to Iraq or Afghanistan. Some received $15,000 or more.
